House in Rosebery alters an existing 1900s weatherboard cottage to create a light-filled family home.

The design organises the home around a central open-air courtyard. A twelve meter long  kitchen runs along the north-facing central courtyard, with the living and dining spaces on opposite ends.

Referencing the home-owners love for mid-century modern design, the materials of exposed brick, concrete and exposed timbers act as a counterpoint to the original federation home.

Colours flow throughout the new rooms of the home inspired by mid-century colour palettes. Browns, pinks, and bold greens are used throughout bathrooms, bedrooms and the kitchen.
