The project adapts a two-storey, heritage listed 1916 Edwardian period house in the Arts and Crafts style.
True to the Arts and Crafts style, the design is imaginative with detail and decoration. A sculptural sweeping stair connects the original level of the home to the new third-storey addition.
The design sculpts a third storey addition to the heritage home, almost entirely within a disused roof space.
New joinery, staircase and handrails utilise richly coloured Australian hardwood timbers, referenced from the extensive ornate, polished timber details evident throughout the original home.
The project is a sympathetic adaption to the original 1916 home to create a contemporary, private and bright bedroom suite for the homeowners.
