In a leafy tree-lined heritage conservation area, this project mends an existing Californian bungalow to a large irregularly shaped garden.
Working closely with landscape architect, Even Spaces we connected the existing home to the new garden spaces and pool. A new kitchen pavilion is added to the side of the original home, under the canopy of a mature oak tree.
The new pavilion allows the homeowners to feel as though they are living within their newly established garden. The irregularly shaped pavilion, and steel framed doors which quite literally slide off the building offers views from internal spaces to the garden, something that the original home didn’t have.
Internal finishes use finely crafted steel and stone details, along with oak timbers to further establish a relationship of the building sitting below the mature oak tree.
